>As the sun rises over Sanctuary City, a MRD captain arrives at the park, being greeted by the odd sight of MRD officers facing off against a line of armed soldiers, their faces completely covered by their black uniforms. Looking on, a crowd of people has lined up to see what exactly is happening.
>Behind the line of soldiers, a small encampment has been built up around the mysterious object, blocking off visibility of it to the outside world.
>Approaching one of his officers, the captain is appraised of the situation."They arrived before us, sir, and refused to answer our questions, we would have acted ourselves but their leader asked to speak to someone higher ranking than me, he even quoted code. . ."
"Don't worry about it, kid, I'll handle it from here."
>The captain gives his junior a pat on the shoulder to reassure him, and then walks past him, making sure to keep an escort as he walks over to the man identified as the leader of the other group, a tall man with reflective shades covering his eyes.
>As he approaches, the captain hears some of the man's conversation with his subordinate, a thin, weedy man with a badge indicating his position as a scientific advisor.". . .Dr Anderson's algorithm worked perfectly, this occurred exactly where he predicted, it's just a shame that he couldn't. . ."
"Indeed, he was an old friend. . ."
>As the MRD captain gets closer, the tall man turns to look at him."Ah, captain, you arrived just on time."
"Would you mind explaining what's going on here?"
"Top secret, unfortunately, under the OSA, but you can be assured that it doesn't involve Meta-Humans, so it's not yours to worry about."
>The man looks at the crowd forming."Personally I'd be more concerned about the crowd forming."
"You can't just-"
"I can, as per UN Charter, chapter VII, under the permission of the Security Council. You're free to escalate this to your director, if you wish, but he'll receive the same response, so there's little need to right now. Do keep him informed though."
>The MRD Captain stutters for a second, then looks the man up and down, his thoughts on the matter seemingly changing as he does, and then steps back."I. . . understand, best to make sure this doesn't get out of hand. . ."
>The Captain steps away, leaving the man and his conversation partner."You have such an odd way with words, Major."
"Dr Anderson used to say the same. Now, I don't think this should bring any sort of reprisal from that sort. . ."
