>Date: September 13th, 2017
>Location: Sanctuary City - Archeon Complex
>Time: 12:30 PM

"Are you sure this is the place?"

>A hooded figure says, hovering in the skies above the Archeon Complex. Beside him, is another hooded figure - standing on an amorphous mass of black smoke.

"You can sense him, can't you? No shit it's him."

>Blinking, the initial hooded figure then responds:

"We've only got one shot at this, Rampage. You know that right? Boss isn't gonna be happy with us if we screw this up."

>The larger and bulkier hooded figure - Rampage, looks back at his ops partner and speaks:

"Like I said, Phantasm. No shit."

>Phantasm signs and shakes his head - his facial expression unknown behind his helmet and mask.

"Yeah, yeah alright. Fine. Let's get this over with."

>Time: 1:00 PM

>A pair of security guards stand far outside of the Archeon Complex's front entrance. Both wearing powered exoskeleton suits, similar to those of the MRD troopers. Their faces are obscured by their armored helmets - as they hold stun rifles in their hands.

>Both of the guards are silent - as they notice a bright red and orange spark in the sky. The spark seems to be getting larger and larger - while increasing its luminosity.

"Wait a minute. Is that……?"

"Shit! Get down!"

>The Archeon guards then quickly leap out of the way with their superhuman speed and agility - narrowly avoiding the rocketing energy sphere as it crashes to the ground below. The force of the tremor is enough to shake the parking lot - as cars are sent flying.

"Two hostiles sighted outside of the perimeter! Code Delta! I repeat! Cold Delta!"

>One of the Archeon guards says as they speak over their commlink in their helmet. The other guard begins opening fire on the figures - only for his energy blasts to harmlessly dissipate over the surface area of the energy sphere.

"Get out of the way, runts. We're not here for you."

>Phantasm says as he holds out his hand - causing a wave of force to rush out. The telekinetic surge is powerful enough to send the guards flying - although their warning has already been sent to the facility behind them.

>Rampage unravels his gloved fists, as black and red smoke manifests around his fingers. The extremities of his hands then begin to produce larger flames - which then envelop his hands entirely, revealing two large metallic handguns.

>Aiming a hand at the front door to the premises - he then says:

"No, let's just bring him to us."

>Rampage then fires a blast of red energy from his handguns - powerful enough to rupture the entire front half of the facility's entrance. As burning smoke and flames begin to spew everywhere, Rampage himself then says to Phantasm:

"Keep your guard up and get ready to flank him from behind."

>Having arrived seemingly making no sound, a voice speaks up behind the pair.

"I'm already behind you."

>Before anyone can do anything a fist slams into the back of Phantasm's head, knocking him to the ground.

>Holding his palm out, an invisible force suddenly stops the collapse of the building's entrance, just narrowly preventing some people from being crushed under the rubble.

>With his presence obvious now, Omnius stares the pair down.

"You get one chance to stop. Although I doubt you will since you've already injured several people."

>Phantasm feels the force of the friction grind against the surface of his helmet. As the heat and force builds up - he finds himself skidding against the ground.

"Ack! Piece of shit!"

>In an instant, Phantasm disappears in a flicker of light - reappearing beside Renegade. His short ranged teleportation being his main mode of combat traversal - he regains his footing quickly, though shaken by the surprise attack.

>Rampage however, remains entirely unphased. Looking up and down Omnius for a moment, he then says in a distorted tone of voice.

"Thought you'd be bigger. Oh well. Doesn't matter either way."

>Holding a hand out - Rampage aims his handgun at Omnius as he then states:

"We've got a warning in response. Boss wants to see just how tough you are. So don't disappoint."

>Immediately, and without warning, Rampage then begins firing off rapid fire volleys of red energy beams - each with the same destructive capacity as the initial blast.

>At the same time, Phantasm turns invisible to the naked eye - although not to advanced technology. In an instant, he flies into the air, beginning to grab large cars with his telekinesis - instantly lobbing them at Omnius with surprising speeds.

{"I'll keep him distracted, Rampage! Wear him down!"}

>Phantasm says through a telepathic relay - establishing a connection with his associate.

>Omnius begins moving to the side, dodging Rampage's shots. Without paying much attention he remotely catches Phantasm's projectiles and then hurls them back into Rampage's direction with many times more force.

"Wow look at you, Skull Guy. You some kind of cosplayer? I don't think I've seen whatever this costume is from."

>Phantasm looks down at Omnius below, as he then lightly scoffs.

>Still invisible, he then quickly flies down to Omnius, charging up an energy blast within his right fist. The energy is unable to be hidden, as it begins to charge up more intensely with a bright green luminescence.

>At the same time, Rampage fires blasts of energy from his handguns once more. The energy beams are blue now, however - indicating far greater force and energy.

>The blue energy blasts slice through the cars almost immediately - rendering them nothing more than molten metal sludge as it lands on the ground.

>After neutralizing all of the projectiles, Rampage then lowers his handgun in actual surprise. Intrigue starts to show across his face - though hidden behind his mask.

"Not all talk then. Good. This would've been boring if you were full of nothing but hot air."

>Still holding his handguns, Rampage then rushes towards Omnius with surprising speed - moving much faster than before, but likely still fast enough for Omnius to track.

>As he does so, Phantasm then unleashes the blast of green spectral energy from his fist - completely enveloping the parking lot in front of him.

>Rampage and Omnius are then hit with the full force of the energy blast - as the rest of the parking lot is completely annihilated.

>The smoke and dust clears after a few moments, and Omnius begins standing up from a crater. He seems more annoyed by Phantasm's attack than hurt.

"You planning on blowing yourself up or something, dumbass?"

>Feeling at least a little sore, Omnius takes a moment to loosen his arms up. He then launches towards Phantasm, throwing his own glowing fist in his direction - albeit one that doesn't explode.

>Phantasm, quick enough to detect the incoming attack, but not quick enough to entirely avoid it - instinctively 'fissures' into two copies of himself with a bright blue ring of light.

"Shit! I hate it when this happens!"

>The two clones of Phantasm are both hit by the same glowing fist attack - but spread the damage between the two of them.

>As they're sent flying backwards, they both quickly regain their bearings, grinding across the concrete and tar of the parking lot - or what's left of it.

"Rampage already told you. We don't give a shit about what happens to this place."

>The first Phantasm clone then lobs another set of bright green energy blasts at Omnius - with more precision and concentrated force, attempting to strike his weak points.

>The other Phantasm clone then begins lifting up more cars - or rather the burning wreckages of them, lobbing them at Omnius's direction.

"We're just here to test you!"

>Rampage has stepped a few feet back and has his arms crossed - while still holding his handguns. Examining the entire situation, he assesses Omnius's progress.

>Albeit he too is slightly ached in his muscles from the force of the energy blast.

File: 1706309867416.jpg (140.16 KB, 450x453, Interface24.jpg)

>Omnius immediately catches the cars in the air just as Phantasm begins lobbing them. He crushes them into ball-shaped piles of scrap and metal, and then harmlessly drops them to the ground.

"Enough with the cars."

>His feet begin to lift off the ground, kicking away dust and smoke as he begins raising into the air.

"I don't remember signing up for some damn test."

>He clenches his fist, starting to feel frustrated by the situation.

"Why do you care about testing me? You guys the presidents of my fan club or something?"

>Both Phantasm clones then begin to fly up into the air - rapidly circling him from afar as they continue to charge up energy in their hands.

"Not our place to ask. The boss thinks you're hot shit, for whatever reason."

>The other Phantasm clone then chimes in.

"And they tasked us with fighting you because of it. Pushing you as far as we possibly could."

>Down below, Rampage then speaks up.

"Keep quiet, Phantasm. You're already on thin ice after your last screwup."

>Phantasm bites his lip instinctively behind his mask as he then turns around and shouts:

"You shut the fuck up! I didn't ask for your input on that!"

>The other Phantasm clone then stares at Rampage as well - clearly as irate as his counterpart.

"All you fucking do is order us around! 'Phantasm do this!' 'Phantasm handle that!'. Well we're fucking sick of it!"

>Seemingly split in their focus due to both their emotional state, and their fissured condition, both Phantasm clones then rush towards Rampage - attempting to fight him.

"Now is the moment you decide to defect? Well then, if you insist."

>Rampage calmly waits for both Phantasm clones to converge on his location - easily blocking their superhuman strikes with his hands. He does this, despite holding handguns, and not using the full force of his strength to parry their strikes.

"Fight back you asshole!"

"Come on!"

>Both Phantasm clones shout - as they continue to fight Rampage in hand-to-hand combat. Seemingly gaining the upper hand against them both.

>Phantasm then presses the assault even further, attempting to use the combined strength of his and his clone's strength to strike at their new opponent.

>Both of the Phantasm clones then pull back their fists - synchronizing for a final blow - as they send Rampage flying backwards into a large pile of molten and burning scrap heap.

>The force of the strike is powerful enough to completely rupture the surrounding air - creating a pulse of heavy air pressure that further flattens the area.

>As both of the Phantasm clones land on the ground beside each other - they're both panting heavily. Looking up at Omnius in the sky, one of them points and says:

"….Don't think….this…means…..anything….."

>Lowering his hand, Phantasm continues panting - as he then involuntarily exhales a large surge of glowing blue light from his mask's mouth area.

"….Oh no."

>In that moment, a blur of black mass quickly rushes out from the rubble and converges on Phantasm's location.

>The Phantasm clone then gets in the way - protecting the original Phantasm as the collision occurs. The force of the resulting strike is so powerful as to further rupture the air - causing it to ignite on contact.

>The explosion that follows is powerful enough to further decimate the remains of the Archeon parking lot - as the original Phantasm is sent flying far into the air - high into the atmosphere to the point where he's a fading dot in the sky.

>Out of the flaming explosion, Rampage slowly steps forward. Looking up at Omnius as his costume slowly burns in place due to the intense flames - he them says:

"I'll deal with the defector once I'm done with you. His whining was starting to reach a breaking point with me anyways."

File: 1706311597500.jpg (149.24 KB, 960x1280, Interface38.jpg)

"We can agree on that."

>Orion rockets forward, blowing debris behind him as the already ruined parking lot isn't of any concern anymore. He seems to suddenly stop in front of Rampage - only for his momentum to continue being carried forward by an invisible force slamming into Rampage.

>Rampage is sent flying backwards by the force of Omnius's movements - the slipstream created by his speed seemingly breaking through his defenses.

"Huh. You are stronger than I realized. Much stronger."

>As Rampage skids to a halt, he then scoffs out loud as he slowly rises to his feet once more.

"In that case, I suppose the gloves can come off now."

>Removing his handguns in a plume of black and red smoke - Rampage then begins to generate energy around him, as a glowing red light. The ground begins to shake and tremble beneath his feet as he then rushes towards Omnius - moving with the same degree of speed as his opponent.

>As he rushes towards Omnius, he pulls back his fist - ready to strike his target as he converges on his location.

File: 1706469380944.jpg (160.78 KB, 1265x632, Interface2.jpg)

"I don't care."

>Omnius flies forward towards Rampage. He clenches his fists, readying himself to try and strike before his opponent.

>As Rampage's fist connects with Omnius's own - the resulting shockwave further flattens the area entirely. As the Meta-Human's muscles begin to strain slightly under the force of the strike, Rampage then gives a grunt of irritation.

"Persistent bastard, aren't you? I thought you'd go down quicker. Maybe the boss was right about you after all."

>With his other hand, Rampage delivers a swift uppercut to Omnius's helmet - attempting to shatter it as he then holds his hands out in front of him. Quickly charging up a condensed sphere of orange light, it then discharges - releasing a much larger blast of heat and flame.

>The diameter of the almost-cylindrical blast is enough to encompass the entire front half of the Archeon Complex - although being shot in the opposite direction.

"You better stop me soon, before I level the entire place."

>Rampage says, straining more - but also building even greater reserves of power in his surroundings.

>The visor on Omnius's helmet shatters from the force of the uppercut, with the blast sending Orion spiraling backwards. He slows himself down in the air, rolling into a stop before he can slam into anything.

>He rubs his chin, glaring at Rampage as his smoking helmet's visor begins to slowly repair itself.

"Two or three hits and you're already panting and pulling out some kind of desperation move? Really?"

>Omnius's tone of voice almost makes him sound disappointed. He watches as Rampage glows more and more, seemingly unconcerned.

>Without another word he rockets forward - suddenly appearing in front of Rampage in the blink of an eye. Before he can react, Omnius rams his fist into Rampage's face, using massively more force than before - as if he had been holding back this entire time.

>The force generates a shockwave that nearly obliterates everything around them, thankfully however it doesn't travel any further than the already wrecked area.

>A dying flame with black smoke slowly dissipates from Omnius's fist, as shattered pieces of armor break off his gauntlets and then begin to be repaired by the suit.

>Rampage's body is immediately contorted by the force of Omnius's strike - as the connection to his mask nearly shatters it whole.

>As his body spirals onto the ground at an erratic pace - it them comes to a halt, now almost lifeless. A few seconds go by, before the figure slowly begins rising up.

>Barely able to even speak, Rampage only has the strength to raise his eyes up slowly.

>Blood begins slowly dripping from beneath Rampage's hood - first at a slow drip feed. Then, the blood starts to fall as a stream of red fluid. After a few moments it's apparent what's happened.

>Rampage's nose is entirely shattered, with his veins and arteries now ruptured along with his cartilage. As he looks up from his prone position on the ground - he stares at Omnius, his eyes visible with a stare of pure anger.

>He then falls to the ground, unconscious.

>A distorted voice then rings out from seemingly all directions. Sudden and almost robotic sounding, the voice then speaks:

["The subjects were insufficient to challenge you then. Ah, I should've known as much."]

>In an instant, a humanoid figure in a metallic silver armor slowly appears, kneeling on the ground beside Rampage. Looking over the downed Meta-Human, he then states:

"Well then. I suppose failure isn't entirely the most accurate word here. I would say I have learned a valuable lesson with regards to combat engagements."

>As the figure places two metallic armored fingers on Rampage body - the blood suddenly starts to disappear. Standing up slowly, he then speaks:

"Nonetheless, you're of no further use to me anymore."

>The humanoid and armored figure then turns around - looking at Omnius more directly. The maroon texture of the humanoid's 'skin' contrasts with the dark silver metal of their armor plating. Their eyes are blood red, with no irises nor pupils.

"As for you, psionic one. Your capabilities are indeed remarkable. Far greater than expectations would lead me to believe."

>The armored figure then stands there in place - almost goading Omnius to react.

"You're the boss that idiot kept talking about? What's with this shitty little 'test' then?"

>Omnius floats downwards, his eyes locked on the figure as he tries to mentally size them up.

File: 1706472405498.jpeg (413.9 KB, 1920x2887, Eidolus - 2.jpeg)

>The figure gives a soft smile, his eyes pulsating slowly with red light. Looking down at the form of Rampage, he then replies.

"Ex-employer, as of now. Effective immediately. What you do with them is not my concern."

>Looking back up at Omnius, the figure then crosses his arms behind his back as he speaks.

"Normally, I would've expected nothing beyond the parameters established by most of the Meta-Human population. You are, after all the majority of all supernaturally powered beings on the planet."

>Casually placing one hand on its hip, the figure then gestures towards Omnius with their other free hand.

"But then, there are anomalies such as yourself. No distinctly remarkable Meta-Gene. Yet, the power you demonstrate exceeds their normalized distribution. You and the rest of your 'associates' are remarkable."

>The figure then starts walking around - slowly circling Omnius from meters away. His red cape slowly moves around, somewhat fluttering with the wind as he places his arms behind his back.

"Special, like me. As such, you have demonstrated the same degree of power deviancy that my creator witnessed in me. What terrified him."

>Stopping before Omnius - and still standing a few meters away, he then states:

"Boundless and limitless potential. Unrestrained power, incapable of being controlled. My creator could not accept the fact that I had grown beyond his expectations - his own limitations."

>The figure then stops speaking, standing in place and waiting for Omnius to reply.

File: 1706472721133.jpg (149.24 KB, 960x1280, Interface38.jpg)

>Omnius continues to stare at the figure.

"…Okay. And what exactly are you doing with your power? You sound like you plan on doing more than just lazing around scaring your creator."

>The figure looks up in the sky as it then continues speaking.

"There is something remarkable that comes from outgrowing your originator. Something liberating about that - isn't there?"

>The armored figure then continues speaking before stating:

"A mentor, a teacher. A father. Wouldn't you say?"

>Looking back at Omnius, the figure's expression then slowly contorts into a wider and wider smile.

"I've outgrown my creator, and everything he deemed anachronistic in nature. That includes humanity itself-"

>Suddenly, the area around the figure erupts into a flurry of rainbow lights and energy beams. The force of the impact startles the figure, causing them to instinctively teleport backwards - but only after being hit with the attack.

>Wincing, the armored figure then feels his eyes dart back and forward - looking for the source of the attack.

"What in blazes…."

>Suddenly, Mosaic appears beside Omnius, holding out both hands with specific gestures being made.

"Are you really surprised? That was a warning, Eidolus."

>The figure, 'Eidolus' then recognizes the figure as they appear - laughing loudly as he then speaks:

"If you insist. I was going to make an offer to him - as I did to you-"

>Eidolus then instinctively reacts - as another surge of magical energy is blasted in his direction, barely moving his head away from the blast in time.

"I already told you. If you so much as consider going after Omnius or the others, you're getting turned into scrap metal."

>Lowering one hand, but keeping the other hand raised, Mosaic then says:

"As far as I'm concerned? You're another failed experiment from Ouranos. Junk, and nothing more."

>Eidolus's face slowly contorts into an expression of anger, as his blood red eyes train their vision on Mosaic's armored helmet.

"Now leave, unless you want to learn what an infinite spatial compression feels like."

>Eidolus looks at Omnius once more, before scoffing.

"Another time then, anomalies. Once I'm through with you, and the rest of your compatriots - humanity is next."

>Eidolus then disappears in a flash of magical energy, as the area now falls silent.

>Easing up, Mosaic turns to Omnius and asks:

"Are you alright? Did he try anything on you?"

>Mosaic says, looking over Omnius as he moves around him.

"I'm fine."

>Omnius looks over at all the rubble and debris.

"Not sure if I can say the same for everyone around here though. I tried to keep the damage minimized but I'm not sure I was able to protect everyone."

>Mosaic looks around at the wreckage of Archeon's exterior. Cursing to himself under his breath he then says:

"Damnit. The one time I'm gone and this happens…."

>Looking back at Omnius, he then says:

"It's not your fault, Orion. I should've been here - but I was tracking movements across dimensions trying to find Eidolus."

>Silent, he then says:

"Never mind. I'll explain what he is later. For now? I'll clean up the wreckage."

>Adjusting the cuffs of his costume's wrists, Mosaic then states:

"You did a good job diverting the fight away from the actual complex. I can't sense any unmoving bodies with my ESP. Thank God."

>Holding up his hands, Mosaic then begins making a series of gestures with them. Without saying a word, Mosaic then lowers his hands - watching as the entirety of the parking lot begins to repair itself.

>Objects fly backwards, reversing their projected movements - though not actually reversing time. Entire structures are recreated, burns and scorch marks are removed and vehicles are repaired to their prior states.

>A seemingly invisible force seems to flow outward from the point in space where Mosaic cast the spell. The entire complex is then restored after a few seconds - with the two of them standing in the middle of the parking lot as before.

"I already put up a perception filter around us - so no one's going to see that we're here."

>Assuming a thinking position, Mosaic then states:

"Still, Eidolus is a problem and we're going to have to deal with him ASAP."

>Off on the side, Rampage now slowly rises to one knee - muttering to himself as he was seemingly healed by Eidolus. Looking around - he can no longer see or hear anyone present besides himself - due to Mosaic's perception filter spell.

"Yeah. I figured."

>Orion looks at the unconscious Rampage.

"Guess I'll hang around until the MRD arrives to pick that guy up. Whenever that'll be in the next hundred years."

>Omnius lets out a sigh, seemingly annoyed at the MRD's slow response speed.

>Mosaic then looks up at Omnius before he suddenly has a realization.

"Oh, right. Before I forget."

>Making a gesture with his hand, Mosaic pulls back the fabric of reality - as a young man in sleek armor and a hooded jacket spirals onto the floor.

"Gyah! Shit!"

>Spinning around, Phantasm looks up at Mosaic and Omnius from the floor.

"Oh…Oh shit! Fuck! I didn't know you dudes were partners?!?!"

>Mosaic looks at Omnius for a moment, as he states:

"….We should've been, more often than we actually were."

>He says, with a tone of apology to his voice. Then, looking back at Phantasm, Mosaic's tone changes to one of annoyance.

"Talk. Now. Where did Eidolus find you, and are there more experiments like you?"

>Phantasm continues stammering as he states:

"How did you-"

>Mosaic then interrupts, clearly annoyed.

"Because I can see your DNA sequence, and see the exact codon splicing that was done to your Meta-Gene."

>Stunned, Phantasm then speaks up quickly.

"He-He found us in MRD containment and took us away! Said he had a proposition for us and that there'd be a shitload of money in it! That's all I know! I swear!"

>Rolling his eyes behind his helmet, Mosaic then states:

"Thanks for cooperating then."

>Snapping his fingers, Mosaic seemingly causes Phantasm to pass out.

>Turning back to Omnius for a moment, Mosaic then says:

"Since you should know, Eidolus is a creation of Ouranos. I learned about him from the information that we recovered from Ouranos's…..'ship'."

>Mosaic says, remembering that he never explained the concept of a Trans-Temporal Capsule to Omnius.

"Then he approached me a while back - with the same song and dance that he tried on you. I gave him a warning, but clearly he didn't abide by it. So now he gets the full target treatment."

"I love these evil mastermind types."

>Mosaic sighs as he kneels down beside Phantasm - tapping him on the forehead.

"Eidolus seems to have modified their genetic code - probably to give them a stronger Meta-Gene phenotype expression."

>Standing back up, he looks at Omnius and states:

"I'll have Valkyrie take them in. Rampage is likely going to the Wedge - but Phantasm can possibly turn his life around. He's in his late teens - judging by his behavior and his voice. So he still has time to set himself straight."

>Assuming a thinking position once more, Mosaic's mind then races.

"How in the world did Ouranos even find a source of power capable of strengthening a composite android-"

>Then, it hits him. As Mosaic begins to use his superhuman intuition alongside his intelligence and eidetic memory.

"Of course. I'm a complete idiot! He used the Parahelions as a reference point!"

>Turning around towards Omnius, Mosaic then begins speaking at a quicker pace.

"The Parahelions have magic-based physiologies and their output is immense. So he had to have found a substitute in the form of some kind of magic artifact…."

>Waving off his own thoughts, Mosaic then makes a dismissive hand gesture as he speaks.

"No, now's not the time for that. Sorry. You can take the rest of the day off. I'll come up with an explanation if anybody asks."

File: 1706477117416.jpg (191.21 KB, 450x494, Interface44.jpg)

"Alright. I guess I'll just leave the rest of this to you then. I'll do a quick fly over the city on the way home just in case I'm needed."

>Omnius turns away, and begins to hover into the air.

>He then flies off.

>Location: The Axiom - Nexus of Magic
>Time: Indeterminate

>Two hours after the incident at Archeon - Aiden is standing at a table in the center of the Axiom's library. Standing on the other side of the table are the Sorcerers Supreme of the universe.

"There's the last of the data I took from Ouranos."

>As Aiden makes a gesture with his hand - he brings up the holographic image of Eidolus. While he does this, Isaac looks over the hologram intently, taking note of Aiden's description of the android.

"Bio-mechanical physiology, integrated with magic circuits. That's surprising…"

>Isaac then assumes a thinking stance, his white and gold Sorcerer Supreme costume contrasting against the black, red and white of Aiden's magitek costume.

"I thought you'd say that. My guess is that Eidolus is utilizing magical artifacts taken from other dimensions to power his synthetic body."

>Isaac looks over at Stephanie for a moment, before he looks back at Aiden - looking him in the eyes through his sunglasses.

"Eidolus is likely powered by artifacts similar to those that comprise your Thaumaturgy Ring."

>Aiden then looks at Isaac and Stephanie as he states:

"…..Cryonis, Pyronis. Umbros. Lumos. Ouranos has been to all of the magic dimensions that the Thaumians traversed?"

>Isaac then responds.

"Likely, yes."

>Turning towards Stephanie, he then asks:

"Should we intervene with this? Or leave this to Aiden and the others instead?"

File: 1706565178253.jpg (732.87 KB, 1020x1447, Stephanie - 4.jpg)

"Aiden seems to be on top of this just fine."

>Stephanie simply leans against the table, using her hands to support herself as she stares at the holographic image.

"If he gets into trouble, he can call for help. But it doesn't seem like he'll need it."

>Aiden looks up at Stephanie for a moment as he then says:

"I'd rather not kill him, as surprising as that sounds. I know he's a hyper-advanced killing machine, but I also know that unless it's absolutely necessary - destruction shouldn't be my first instinct."

>Isaac looks at Aiden for a moment and then gives a sheepish shrug, stating:

"In all honesty? I can understand your apprehension - but you can't take any chances. As Stephanie said, we're delineating this responsibility to you - so don't mess up."

>Sighing, Isaac scratches the stubble on his chin as he states:

"Believe me. Your counterpart will never let you hear the end of it….."

>Aiden scans the holographic structure of Eidolus once more, taking vast amounts of precise data into his brain within a few milliseconds. He then t urns to Stephanie again and states:

"I placed a few protection charms on Orion. If Eidolus attempts anything again, I'll know."

>Eyes widening behind his sunglasses, Aiden then instinctively curses.

"Oh no. Phoebe! He said that he had multiple targets!"

>Isaac then looks at Stephanie as he states:

"Should we check the Observatory Deck?"

>Location: The Axiom - Observatory Deck

>Inside the large panopticon-like structure, the dimensionally folding walls of the Observatory Deck rumble and shift around. Soft vibrations can be felt from the intersecting fractals of the walls, as the three figures walk into the area.

"I'll cue up a quick search for your sister. Since we already have her imprint due to her visiting the Axiom before - this shouldn't take too long."

>Isaac then makes a flicking gesture with his finger - causing the space around them to immediately shift around. After a few moments, a large mirror structure appears before them - about the size of the wall before them.

>After making another series of gestures with his hand, Isaac then causes the mirror surface to shimmer and flicker - like a puddle of water. A few moments pass, as a third person view of Hyperia appears - casually flying throughout Paradise City's upper skyscrapers.

>Turning to face Aiden with a look of certainty on his face, Isaac then responds.

"Your sister's safe. Looks like Eidolus kept his word to you when he said he'd keep his distance. For now at least."

>Now gesturing to Aiden, he continues.

"Still, like Stephanie said - we're going to leave this up to you and the others to resolve. Stephanie and I have something that we need to attend to, anyways."

>Also realizing that he almost forgot something, Isaac then says:

"Also, you should inform Stellara of this. If you're correct in that Eidolus's power stems from the naturally-occurring dimensions - the same ones that created your Thaumaturgy ring? Then this involves her people - even posthumously."

>Aiden nods at Isaac and Stephanie as he responds.

"Yeah, you're right Isaac. I'll handle this - with her help. I don't want anyone else involved unless things go south with my plan."

>Focusing on his destination for a moment, Aiden then places two fingers to his forehead - as he then instantly disappears from the Axiom itself.

>Time: 8:00 PM

>As she finishes hearing the story outlined to her and relayed to her by Aiden, a look of annoyance can be seen on Stella's face.

"I told you already, Aiden. You don't need to keep putting burdens on yourself! Ugh, you are so unbelievably dense at times!"

>Stella pinches Aiden's ear with magic - causing him to actually wince.

"You're invulnerable to almost everything - except magic. Remember that, genius."

>Sighing, Aiden mutters to himself before he speaks out loud.

"Regardless, he seems to have kept his distance. He can sense our presence as anomalies - but for whatever reason he chooses to not put it together."

>Raising an eyebrow, Stella asks.

"Put what together?"

>Aiden then gets into a thinking position before he replies to her.

"Our identities. Eidolus can sense our relative presence, since we don't match the energy signatures of Meta-Humans nor regular Humans. But he doesn't take the next step and figure out who we actually are outside of costume."

>Now confused by this pattern of behavior, Aiden further elaborates as he sits on the couch of the living room.

"It's almost as if he wants to maintain the illusion that he can't figure it out. I don't understand why."

>Stella falls silent for a moment, referring to her own inner thoughts before she speaks out loud.

"Maybe he's not as above his disdain for human being as he thinks he is."

>Stella watches as Aiden looks back at her - signaling for her to continue speaking.

"You said it yourself, right? He claims he's moved beyond his creator, and us humans as well."

>Aiden nods.

"I follow you so far."

>Stella then continues.

"Yet, if the design schematics are right - then Eidolus is made primarily from biomaterial. DNA. He's possibly a Chronarch like Ouranos is - or at least human at the very least. So then why is he acting this way?"

>Aiden thinks with a great degree of care and general consideration - before he replies.

"…..Because he's not actually looking to destroy humanity. He's trying to find a purpose for his own existence with all of his power."

>He then stands up as he then begins pacing back and forward.

"Something that actually justifies his own existence beyond just his prime directive - destroying us. That's why he hasn't actually tried it yet."

>Aiden pauses for a moment as the understanding and clarity now quickly rushes over him.

"And he knew that we'd figure this out eventually. If he just told us, we wouldn't believe him - as we'd assume it's just a trap."

>Stella then interjects.

"But now that you've seen firsthand that he doesn't actually intend to immediately try and destroy you - it reinforces the idea that….."

>Aiden nods in return.

"….That he might just be serious about wanting a purpose."

>Date: September 14th, 2017
>Location: Sanctuary City - Residential District
>Time: 8:30 AM

>The doorbell to the Blackburn Manor rings - alerting the residence to a new arrival.

>The loud noise of thumping can be heard from the front door of the manor - with a few metallic clanking sounds also emanating from the building. After a few moments however, the door opens.

"Sorry about that. I'm still getting everything settled in properly."

>Jack then notices who's at the door, and relaxes a bit.

"Oh, I didn't know it was you Aiden."

>Aiden nods as he then says:

"I've got something that I might need your help with."

>Looking at Aiden with a calm expression on his face, Jack then replies:

"If it's something to do with social calls, I'm still a bit of a ghost right now-"

>Aiden shakes his head and makes a gesture of confirmation with his hands.

"No, it's not that, Jack. We'll deal with the person who's attempting to hunt you down later."

>Sighing, Jack then states:

"Well, in that case. I can talk."

>A few minutes later, Jack is talking to Aiden on the front porch of the manor's entrance. As they both sit on chairs overlooking the Residential Area's streets, Aiden then says:

"I'm sure you saw what happened on the news yesterday?"

>Jack nods as he takes another sip from his drink.

"Yeah. Your friend Orion did a pretty good job handling them. What happened to them anyways?"

>Aiden then spins a coin around his fingers effortlessly as he replies.

"Exactly what I expected. Rampage was sent to the Wedge to share a cell block with Thrasher and Shaper. Phantasm got a better outcome though. He's still under scrutiny for the attack. But since there were no casualties - he's getting his own form of forced community service."

>Jack thinks for a moment before he says:

"Valkyrie put him on the Vindicators team didn't she?"

>Aiden nods, as Jack then gives a sigh of understanding.

"I figured as much. Well, what did you need me for, Aiden? Was it tracking down that guy you told me about?"

>Aiden shakes his head, as he then hands Jack a paper from seemingly nowhere. The paper is a complex and detailed drawing of Eidolus with multiple layers of bio-synthetic muscle, cybernetic components and magical wires outlined clearly.

"That's….pretty extensive. Wow."

>Jack's inherent and passive abilities also kick in, with Athena's | Minerva's powers letting him manifest an eidetic memory - among other cognitive abilities.

"…..Oh, I see. His conscious mind is multi-modal, capable of parallel processing. His brain seems incredibly complex. Is it comprised of some kind of quantum meta-material or something?"

>Aiden nods in response to the statement as he then points a finger at the diagram sketch of Eidolus's brain structure.

"Bio-mechanical android. Mostly built from Ouranos's own DNA."

>Jack's attention perks up at that specific statement.

"….So he's a Chronarch?"

>Aiden nods.

"Yes. Which made his actions even more puzzling. He can simulate events with a probabilistic skew - so it didn't make sense that he wasn't immediately attempting to attack us in the most efficient way possible. Unless."

>Jack then looks at Aiden with a more confused look on his face.

>Aiden then clears up the confusion with his next statement.

"…..Unless he was deliberately attempting to demonstrate his lack of killing intent. He isn't actually trying to destroy us. He's trying to use his own restrictive behavior to prove that he isn't just a weapon."

>Jack thinks about the scenario for a moment, before stating:

"Well, considering how he likely can't defeat you in a direct fight; also given how he'd likely know that if he's as advanced as you say he is - then yeah I can see that being the case honestly."

>Jack then takes another sip from his glass as he looks back out in front of the manor - looking out at the streets of the Residential Area.

"So what specifically would you like me to help out with?"

>Aiden then states:

"I want your help in giving him perspective. Making him see that his internal conflict over his true nature and his true purpose - can be resolved peacefully."

>Jack nods in response as he then says:

"Right. I can help you with that."

>Aiden then looks somewhat relieved as Jack states:

"Oh, one more thing Aiden. I uh. I was going to tell you this a few days ago. But you were busy so.."

>Aiden looks up with a somewhat quizzical expression on his face. Curious, he then presses further.

"No, it's fine. If you're feeling more comfortable now, you can tell me."

>Jack nods as he scratches his right cheek nervously.

"Well, uh. You see. I wanted to build up Prokaryon as a small startup, right? See if I could actually build on my parents' old technology and research, since it wasn't patented and was never publicly revealed."

>Aiden nods at the statement, then interjecting:

"I'm sorry about your parents by the way. I know they're still in the Wedge currently."

>A shadow falls over Jack's face as he then shakes his head and states:

"Don't be. They were awful people, and they got what they deserved, honestly. I was a fool to aid them when I was a teenager."

>Sensing more that he can say, Aiden instead respects Jack's sense of dread over his past - and instead refocuses the subject to the original point.

"As you said, you were looking into building up and expanding out Prokaryon, right?"

>Jack nods as he then states:

"I was looking into some basic venture capital funding rounds. Nothing much. Just hoping to use the technology and my own quick additions to their designs to build some prototype machines. Nothing huge. I just figured that'd be a good demonstration of my work to attract some funding. Then…."

>Aiden waits for Jack to continue his story.

"…..Then something unexpected happened. Out of the blue, I got a call from possibly the biggest potential investor that I could've asked for. Melissa Wyngarde."

>Aiden's eyes immediately widen, as he remembers the name that Virgil told him.

"…..Wyngarde? The billionaire philanthropist? Why did she of all people decide to…."

>Jack gives a look of confusion at Aiden's response.

"Oh, was there something wrong there? I didn't know if-"

>Aiden shakes his head as he thinks intently for a moment.

"No, no. There's nothing wrong, Jack. It's just….surprising is all."

>Looking somewhat reassured, Jack then states:

"Well. She called me up one day after I put out the initial offers for a demonstration. She then came to see it, and seemed to be pretty impressed with the automatons; along with the erosion resistant soil compounds that I created."

>Aiden thinks in his mind:

{"Melissa….Isn't that just Virgil's sister? Rafael? Does she know that her brother's here? Is she using Jack to get to him - through his connection to me?"}

>Out loud, Aiden then states:

"I'm guessing she decided to invest some seed capital? How much?"

>Jack looks at the ground, somewhat embarrassed.

"…..Five billion."

>Aiden nearly coughs in complete and utter shock as he stammers a response.

"What in the world…..Five billion in the first round?! Even for your work, that's an absurd amount of money!"

>Jack looks somewhat panicked as he responds:

"That's what I thought too! I immediately knew that something was up, but I also couldn't just turn down the project. I need a legitimate way to get money - so that questions aren't asked about my upkeep and lifestyle here."

>Aiden thinks for a moment, then nods in understanding of the situation.

"Of course. Given your sudden return."

>Jack nods slowly as he responds.

"Yeah, well. She also decided that she'd invest even more money into the start-up if I met the usual performance indicators towards profitability."

>Aiden gives a casual gesture towards Jack with his hand as he says:

"You're a hyper-intelligent freak of nature now, Jack. I don't think hitting business projections is going to be difficult for you."

>Jack sighs in response.

"Yeah, I know. But still. That wasn't the weirdest part. Over the past few weeks, she's been talking to me more and more over possible funding. We've even met at some restaurants in Haven City over it."

>Unphased, Aiden then asks:

"So what was the weirdest part? You're conducting business in a casual setting."

>Jack takes a deep breath and sighs.

"….The weirdest part was that during our most recent meeting - she said that she wanted to know me 'personally'."

>Aiden raises an eyebrow.

"Elaborate on personally."

>Jack's face turns red as he then shouts:

"No not like that! She just wants to see how I think and how I operate the business! That's all! I promise!"

>Aiden scoffs lightly and in amusement as he states:

"Even when you were a prick, you could never read women well. I'm not surprised that you're twice as dense now."

>Jack sighs once more, with his cheeks turning red as he continues thinking about Melissa.

>Aiden then stands up and says:

"We'll deal with that later. For now though, you're probably going to have to meet Orion and the others - so that we can prepare a plan to actually help Eidolus fully defect from Ouranos."

>Jack looks at Aiden for a moment, before responding:

"Wait, now? Isn't he busy at Archeon or something?"

>Aiden looks at his phone for a moment before putting it away, stating:

"Orion is as effective as he wants to be. It's something I admire about him - but also cannot understand either."

>Silent for a moment, Aiden then turns to Jack and says:

"Besides, I'm literally his boss. He can make a few minutes to get to know you."

>Aiden and Jack are both standing on the rooftop of the Archeon Complex's main building. As they both sit on chairs looking over the city's skyline, Aiden then responds:

"He'll be up here in a few minutes. Relax, Jack. Everyone already knows what's happened to you."

>Jack still looks down at the floor beneath his feet - still feeling immense remorse and regret over his past actions.

"You don't understand, Aiden. I can't go back and see who I used to be."

>Aiden looks at Jack for a moment, blinking behind his sunglasses.

"Of course you can. Because I did the same thing."

>Jack looks up at Aiden in shock, as Aiden casually sips his drink still.

"Remember, I had to grapple with the fact that I literally killed you in order to save my friends and family - remember? It messed me up too."

>Placing his drink in mid-air and watching as it hovers in place without moving, Aiden then leans forward on his chair as well, stating:

"It wasn't easy for me to reconcile my own self-serving actions with the nature of killing. I told myself I was doing it to protect people, but I really didn't need to. Deep down? I knew it was going too far."

>Now looking over the city skyline, he then says:

"Besides, what's done is done. That's in the past now, and you can only look forward. Trust me, Orion's got a few skeletons in his closet that he wants to sort out as well. Same with Phoebe and Marek. It's not just you."

>Jack nods once more at Aiden, giving him a look of genuine gratitude as he states:

"….Thanks, man. I genuinely don't know what I'd do without you right now."

>Aiden nods as he leans back in his chair, looking up at the sky with Jack in his periphery view.

"Don't mention it. Just make sure not to stare at his sister. I know Stephanie is incredibly attractive, but that's a word of advice."

>Jack feels his face flush red again as he then quickly stammers:

"D-Do you say that from experience?!"

>Aiden shrugs lightly as he continues looking up at the sky from his chair, stating:

>Orion stands behind the pair, having arrived only just a moment ago without making much noise. He looks down at the pair in the chairs.

"Okay I'm here. What did you want?"

>Aiden looks up at Orion and says:

"Hey. Sorry for the short term notice."

>Slowly standing up, Aiden then blinks as his chair instantly disappears. Looking at Jack, he then says:

"Well, I needed both of you for this because I'm thinking of planning something."

>Jack sits up in his chair, looking somewhat perplexed.

"That reminds me. What did you need us specifically for? As far as I can tell, you're stronger than the both of us."

>Aiden scratches a part of his chin as he speaks.

"Physically? Sure. But what we're going to do involves psionic abilities."

>Jack then looks at Orion, stating:

"I'm sure you're the stronger psion than I am. I honestly don't know why Aiden said he needed me."

>As if anticipating the statement, Aiden then says:

"We're going to alter Eidolus's programming through psychic heuristics and imprinting. His prime directive is to destroy us - and the fact that we're not a fight right now, tells me that he's resisting it. At least somewhat."

File: 1706900502745.jpg (30.39 KB, 320x599, Orion24.jpg)

>Orion stares at Aiden.

"Firstly, I've never heard the word 'heuristics' before. Second. What do you mean?"

>Aiden looks at Jack for a moment, before looking back at Orion.

"We're going to implant psionic messages into Eidolus's subconscious. Powerful enough to force his supercomputer of a mind to start rationalizing his own actions. He's already halfway there - since, as I said before, he's instinctively fighting his programming."

>Aiden then looks towards Jack, stating:

"But, he can't be made aware of what's happening. Remember, we're going for his subsconcious mind."

>Jack then sighs in understanding as he responds, clearly not thrilled about the situation.

"….You need me to fight him and disable his magical defenses while-"

>Aiden then interjects.

"While Orion and I prepare a psychic payload that can be transmitted into his mind, once we've sabotaged his mental defenses."

>Aiden then turns to face Orion once more.

"Did you get all of that Orion? That's why I need both of you. If I'm his only target in view, he's not going to drop his mental guard long enough for this to work. But if I'm masking us while Jack is distracting him? Then we have a shot at this."

>Jack then speaks up:

"Where exactly is Eidolus's magic power even coming from? I doubt he had an…..experience with the mystical like I did."

File: 1706900922712.jpg (165.23 KB, 658x811, Orion4.jpg)

"Okay but what do you mean by psychic payload? Are you trying to fry his brain or not?"

>Aiden sighs and taps his cheek as he considers the best way to respond.

"We're trying to get him to change his thinking, Orion. We're not trying to destroy his mind, nor are we trying to eradicate his physical being."

>Crossing his arms, he then continues speaking.

"Remember. Showing restraint is far more valuable than removing inhibitions. I can say that from personal experience, remember?"

>Jack then stands up - though his chair remains standing. Gesturing at Aiden, he asks another question.

"Are you sure about this, Aiden? I know you want to "fix" this android - but wouldn't it be a risk to keep it alive?"

>Pointing at Orion, Jack also states:

"Besides. We're putting your friend here in danger if we're going through with this. If Eidolus figures out what's happening - then he can and will retaliate."

>Now looking at Orion with a look of genuine concern on his face, Jack elaborates:

"We need to get you some degree of magical protection."

>Turning back to face Aiden for a moment, Jack then reiterates his question more succinctly.

"How strong is Eidolus? In terms of his magic."

File: 1706901907968.png (273.97 KB, 448x418, Orion105.png)

>Orion just stares at Aiden.

"Yeah if he's a problem for you I don't see how I would be any help at all."

>Aiden gives Orion a look of disappointment and slight frustration - as he withholds the urge to immediately respond.

>Closing his eyes and sighing, Aiden then opens his eyes again as he says:

"Alright then. If that's your wish. I just…..I just wanted to…."

>Jack nods at Aiden as he speaks up.

"He just wanted to spend more time with you - but he knew deep down that he'd be asking you to risk your life for this."

>Aiden, still looking downtrodden and somewhat defeated, then looks away from Orion and Jack - instead staring out over the horizon.

"….Yes, I should've known better than to be this irresponsible. But I wanted to make it up to you all the same, Orion."

>Looking over his shoulder, Aiden then concludes:

"I'll see you soon - you can go back to what you were doing. Again, sorry."

File: 1706907436656.png (273.97 KB, 448x418, Orion105.png)

>Orion shrugs and turns to leave.

>Now pacing back and forth on the rooftop, Aiden finds himself deep in thought - until he hears Jack's voice again.

"Um. Aiden? Do you have any suggestions? Anyone else who can help us here?"

>Looking up at Jack for a moment, Aiden gives a slightly quizzical expression as he states:

"Not necessarily. While Speedrunner is capable - her powers seemingly disrupt magic, at the expense of annihilating the target. Even I have to be extra careful around her."

>Jack crosses his arms as he then mulls over the other Meta-Humans that he's aware of.

"What about your sister? Phoebe."

>Aiden then speaks up in response to the suggestion.

"Her strength and speed don't seem to have a functional limit. Same as you and me. But that's not our issue, as I stated before. Eidolus can just use his magic to negate physical effects."

>Aiden then makes another gesture with his hand.

"Also, Phoebe isn't psionic. At least not anymore."

>Jack then thinks of another suggestion.

"What about the MRD? Can Director Mobius help us? Commander Valkyrie?"

>Aiden shakes his head - indicating further setbacks.

"No. Neither of them are fast enough to perceive Eidolus, assuming he isn't holding back. They lack any magic skill and training - nor are their psionic powers impressive enough. If Orion can't help, then neither can they."

>Aiden sighs as he rubs the temples of his eyebrows.

"I don't want to bother the Sorcerers with this either. I told them that I'd handle it. So I suppose it's up to us then."

>A voice then calls out from behind Aiden and Jack - very clearly annoyed.

"I hope you considered me when you make that statement."

>Aiden's eyebrows raise as he turns around. Jack does the same in that moment.

"I don't think I'd survive if I said 'no'."

"Wait. When did she…Who….."

>Stella stands on the rooftop, a few feet away. Hands on her hips, she looks visibly annoyed with Aiden. Her long blonde hair shines faintly as she starts walking towards the two of them.

"Hey, Stella. I wasn't going to-"

>Stella then reaches Aiden's position and quickly flicks him on the forehead with her finger - doing so at a surprising speed.

{"Wow. She's definitely fast, On part with me it seems."}

>Seeing Jack's look of surprise on his face, Stella turns to face him, before saying:

"I figured you'd look rougher, Jack. Given the way Aiden described you in the past."

>Jack still finds himself fixating on Stella's appearance - clearly taken aback by her arrival.

{"She's stunning…..Wait - is that magic I'm sensing from her?"}

>Seemingly reading his mind, Stella gives a quick nod.

"So you can tell then? That's impressive."

>Turning her attention back towards Aiden, Stella then flicks him on the forehead again.

"Dolt! Next time let me know if you're planning something! I thought we had this talk yesterday!"

>Aiden then laughs nervously as he scratches his chin once more.

"Well, plans changed. I didn't mean to keep you out of the loop."

>Raising an eyebrow, Stella then scoffs lightly.

"Aiden, you can't fool me. I know you didn't want me involved with this. What I don't understand is why?"

File: 1706909920684-0.jpeg (140.52 KB, 850x1203, Aiden - 50.jpeg)

>Aiden initially tries to brush past the question.

"Stella, I know that Eidolus is out there. He's too powerful to let roam free, not without some sort of countermeasure."

>Stella, immediately recognizing the deflection, puts the discussion right back in focus.

"You already promised that you'd never keep secrets from me ever again. Remember? So if you're a man of your word, and if you do care about keeping your word with me?"

>She then steps forward and gets directly into Aiden's face - giving him a look of intensity with her blue eyes, that he hasn't experienced before.

"Then tell me the truth, and nothing but the truth."

>Jack looks away, feeling awkward as his sense of being a third wheel starts to manifest itself.

{"I don't remember him being this fragile around anymore. She really must have an impact on him."}

>Aiden then looks Stella in the eyes behind his sunglasses and states:

"….I just didn't want you to get hurt. I've already screwed up so many times over the past few years."

>Looking away from Stella, he then softly speaks:

"….I didn't want to lose you too. I don't know what would happen to me if I did."

>Stella is silent for a moment, as her face slowly turns into an expression of sadness.

"….Aiden. As long as you're honest with me, you're never going to lose me."

>She then takes his hands in her own and lifts them up to their waist levels.

"That's what I love about you the most - your honesty and sincerity."

>Removing her hands from his own, Stella then continues speaking.

"Sure, you're hotheaded and impulsive. But you care about people."

>Aiden gives a look of appreciation before laughing softly as he turns away for a moment.

"Why do I keep doing this to you?"

>Silent once more, Aiden then speaks up, stating:

"OK then. We'll do this together."

>Smiling, Stella then leans in to give Aiden a kiss…

"Um. Guys?"

>Jack coughs into his fist before speaking up - getting their attention.

"I really don't want to interrupt the moment but…."

>Jack then gestures with his hands, making his point.

"Dangerous, universal-scale magical android on the loose? It'd probably be better if we planned on how to stop him right about now."

>Stella gives Aiden a look as she states:

"You heard him. What's the plan?"

>Aiden looks between Stella and Jack, before he then looks back at Stella - stating:

"Remember the training that the Sorcerers Supreme gave us?"
