>>4377>Isaac looks at Aiden and Phoebe again, with his expression changing from slight shock, towards understanding. He then closes his eyes and then opens them again, stating:"I understand Aiden, Phoebe. But still, I want both of you to know."
>Opening his eyes, Isaac stares intently at both Aiden and Phoebe, looking between them as his gaze softens with a hint of sadness in it."…You're not being held to a standard that you have to abide by. Unlike me, you don't have a job that you're ordained by destiny to fulfill. Never allow yourself to feel crushed by the weight of an unnecessary burden. I don't want either of you to become like me - someone who never even got to see his own parents before they….."
>Isaac then closes his eyes once more, rubbing his temples, as he then feels two hands on his two shoulders. Opening his eyes in surprise, he looks up to see Aiden and Phoebe standing on either side of him, each of them giving a warm smile as they each speak."Believe me, Isaac. We've both got a litany of mistakes that we've made, mistakes that we'd do anything to undo."
>Aiden says, as Phoebe looks at Isaac and continues speaking:"But we both learned pretty early on, that screwing up and feeling pain is a part of life. As paradoxical as it sounds, the pain of failing and falling down is what makes life worth living. There's no real weight to a good decision, if you've never made the wrong one prior."
>Stella stands up and walks over to Phoebe, giving her a hug as she says:"Your optimism and hope is what I like the most about you, Phoebe. If I was more like you….than maybe things would've been different with my family and my people."
>Stella's eyes drift downwards in sadness for a moment, before she then turns to Isaac and states:"More than anyone here, I've let people down my entire life - for thousands of years. I turned a blind eye to so many injustices and crimes, that I can barely look myself in the mirror. The weight of the guilt….It's honestly crushing at times."
>Looking at Isaac with a more determined and resolute expression on her face, Stella then says:"But the one thing that kept me going all this time, was the hope that I could one day do better - and make up for my mistakes by protecting others in the future. That, more than anything, is what keeps me going."
>Stella then looks at Aiden, with a profound expression of serenity on her face as she states:"As for
you, 'little flame' - I'll be blunt. You are incredibly dense, stubborn, myopic, narrow minded, overconfident, cocky and reckless to a fault."
>Aiden scoffs and looks off to the side, clearly annoyed. Stella however, walks over past Phoebe and Isaac, and towards Aiden. Once she reaches him, she looks him square in the eyes as her expression softens."But you are also determined, headstrong, courageous, defiant and empathic. You care about people to such a degree, that you're willing to throw away anything and everything of yourself for others - like you did for me when…."
>Stella falls silent, as she doesn't need to further elaborate on the situation that she is referring to."Even then, at your lowest point - I didn't hate you for what you did. Because I know that you did it for me, even if it was misguided. That's what I love the most about you Aiden. You always put others before yourself, even if it kills you."
>Stella then leans in and slightly raises on her tiptoes to give Aiden a kiss, before she then pulls back and says:"That's why I care about you. Because you care about others, even if you're too proud to show it."
>Aiden, for the first time in the entire day, feels his cheeks flush red - as his eyes are hidden behind his sunglasses."…….."
>Isaac, still sitting, gives a warm smile at the exchange, telling Aiden and Stella:"…..You two remind me a lot of a certain pair I met years ago. Very similar in demeanor. The man was headstrong and confident to a fault. But he cared, he really did. The woman was more in tune with her emotions. She always knew how to reach the man in his heart - even if he didn't want to admit it."
>Adjusting his glasses, he then says:"I'll let Magister know that you've finally 'grown up' as he would call it."
