>>5037>Location: Sanctuary City - Archeon Incorporated - R & D Grounds>Time: 11:23 AM"You really think the board's going to be fine with this, Grayson?"
>Amber, the redhead Chief Technology Officer of one of the largest multi-national corporations in modern human history, has her arms on her hips as she raises her eyes at her boss. Despite being a 27 year old engineering prodigy, Amber still feels a combination of annoyance and irritation at the lackadaisical and seemingly indifferent nature of her 22 year old boss - Aiden Grayson, standing beside her.
>Hands in his black designer jeans pockets, with his black coat perfectly rolled up to the sleeves, Aiden has his sunglasses on his face, as usual, as he and Amber are standing side-by-side, observing a large mechanical structure that's being built in the center of the research and development acres of the large, multi-campus complex."Well the board wanted an example of an engineering project that could be used for deep space asteroid mining and exosphere satellite maintenance and management."
>Amber looks at Aiden with an incredulous look on her face as she replies:"So your response was to build a 50-foot bipedal, humanoid mecha frame with the same degree of joint articulation as a human being - powered by a nuclear reactor?!"
>Aiden looks sheepishly at the mech, his hands still in his jacket pockets as he shrugs, saying:"What, you don't like it? I think it looks rather novel."
>Amber then looks at the mecha frame more carefully, noting the two giant blaster weapons in either of its hands."And the giant laser blasters?"
>Aiden looks at Amber, stating:"Mining lasers. Equipped with a refraction index calculation algorithm to alter the optical density of the resulting ionized plasma discharge-"
"I know what it is, Grayson. I'm asking you
why it's there!"
>Aiden then shrugs and says:"Much more direct than complex separate mining machine, no? Besides, Orion seemed to like it."
>Narrowing her eyes, Amber then states:"Oh please, as if
Thompson has any care or consideration for anything that happens at this company. The man doesn't have a single analytical bone in his body! You, I can barely accept as CEO - since you have
some qualifications. But
Thompson? The most complex thing he's ever done is determine which teams are assigned to what projects while eating a sandwich!"
>Amber, seemingly now beyond irritated, then says:"He's completely out of his depth! I don't know what kind of dirt he has on you, but making him COO of the
entire company was an absurd idea! Where did he even come from?!"
>Amber begins jabbing a finger at Aiden's chest, not causing him to move whatsoever, which slightly surprises her, as she keeps jabbing a finger at him."Him
and Stella! While I have nothing against her personally, as she's a very kind and considerate person, unlike
you - she still doesn't have the qualifications to be an assistant manager and secretary of this company!"
>Aiden looks at Amber, keeping his hands in his jeans pockets as he looks at her with his eyes behind his circular sunglasses, stating:"So you're doubting me now, after tripling the company's market capitalization and increasing operating income Year over Year by double digit percentages consistently?"
>Amber looks somewhat startled as she steps back and crosses her arms, huffing in annoyance."You got lucky. We had some projects in R&D that your father was finishing up. That was
his genius, not yours."
>Aiden now looks somewhat amused as he gives a small smile, saying:"He didn't tell you did he? The kinetic dampening field and air scrubber integrated plating were
my designs."
>Amber blinks, trying to hide a look of disbelief on her face as she replies:"Nonsense. Silas was just being considerate to you. He always has been….to everyone…"
>Amber looks lost in thought after mentioning Silas's name, with her expression softening."Wow Amber. If you were 2 decades older, I'd probably be calling you 'mom' right now."
>Amber's face then turns red as she explodes verbally on Aiden, shouting profanities at him as Aiden shrugs.
>Calming herself down, Amber then mutters to herself, saying:"Where the
hell is Thompson anyways? He's supposed to be here at R&D to handle the delegation of project responsibilities!"
